Last week we celebrated the first meeting between professionals from the sectors of tourism and the environment on our farm. The main objective of this organization was to make known the Verdeaurora Ornithological Reserve and our route services in the surroundings of the farm. In addition to enjoying a sensational environment among all those friends who feel passion for the island of Fuerteventura.
More than twenty guides of ecotourism, entrepreneurs of rural tourism and active tourism, organic farmers, members of environmental groups and ecologists, could know the actions that we carry out on the farm and that we plan to present officially next fall.
The meeting consisted of a short presentation talk where all the steps taken for the construction of the ornithological reserve and the naturalized areas were shown. In addition to a guided technical visit to the farm of Verdeaurora Bio Farm. Later we celebrated a dinner to exchange opinions and impressions among the attendees.
We present Verdeaurora as a space of approximately 30 hectares, dedicated to agrotourism where aloe vera is cultivated in an ecological way, olive trees, vegetables and traditional fruit trees, all under the ecological certification of the CRAE.
During the last years we have been creating a kind of oasis of life in the middle of the Biosphere Reserve and Starlight Reserve of Fuerteventura, of the Areas of Special Protection for Birds of Black Well and Plains and Cuchilletes of Antigua, the Protected Landscape of Malpaís Grande and the Natural Monument of Cuchilletes de Vigán.
Since April 2016, we have been working on the creation of the ornithological reserve that recreates the old traditional crops of Fuerteventura, made up of pools, tarays, palm trees, fruit trees and cereal crops. In her they have placed interpretive posters, hides for observation of birds and paths to be able to visit it.
A place with a unique biodiversity where you can observe exclusive bird species such as the mairourero guirre, the tagarote falcon, the Canarian stonechat, the trumpeter bullfinch, the Saharan corridor or the Pipit and other winged jewels of the island.
We thank all the partners who came to our farm to know about our project and we hope that it will become part of all the lovers of the island of Fuerteventura.
