Living a sustainable life in harmony with the environment is something that we must carry out every day, but more so when we travel outside our home town. Practicing ecotourism is something very simple and fun. It allows you to discover a new vision of the places you visit and, in addition, the environment will thank you. Today we will learn what is ecotourism and how to make your next trip an adventure you’ll want to repeat.
What is ecotourism?
Ecotourism defines those trips that we make which are environmentally responsible. The destinations for practicing ecotourism are mainly in rural or natural areas. In addition to preventing damage to nature, ecotourism helps develop local industries. The aim of ecological tourism is to counteract the negative effects produced by mass tourism. Thanks to the practice of ecotourism you will be supporting local businesses and therefore boosting employment in rural areas. The most important thing about this type of travel is to keep an open mind and respect the places we pass through. In this way, people who visit it later will find it in the same condition.
