Protect your hair with natural products

%%title%%

We are almost in September, but in Fuerteventura we still don’tt want to give up the pleasures of life and we’re reluctant to stop enjoying the sun and the beach at all times.

If you look at your hair and compare it to previous months, you will see how it has lost its natural shine and the ends look much drier than usual. The hair has been lightened with solar radiation, leaving an effect of “California highlights”.

During sun exposure, we protect our skin with protective creams, not only to avoid burns but also to prevent possible skin diseases. So why don’t we do the same with our hair? With overexposure to the sun, our hair dehydrates, deteriorates and loses flexibility. Not to mention the scalp!

We recently talked about how to moisturize your hair in summer with natural products and a daily routine to keep it healthy; we even shared a natural mask. It was so well received that we wanted to talk about how to protect hair from sunburn following the same line, as well as telling you which are the best natural products to take care of your hair, even repairing it.

Home remedies for healthy hair

Hydration is the most important aspect and a hair protector is essential to reduce the damage caused by the effects of heat. That is why it is important that you have natural products such as Aloe vera, different types of oil, honey, avocados or lemons in your home.

You never know what trouble they can save you!

  • Pure Aloe Vera: We know firsthand that Aloe has very beneficial properties for the body and the extraction of the pulp to obtain a pure gel is the most recommended method to regenerate and repair the capillary structure. You just have to apply the Pure Aloe Vera gel from mid-lengths to ends, allow it to activate and rinse it out. If you have burned your scalp, you can apply a little gel to the damaged area, don’t forget that this is a perfect natural After Sun gel.
  • Aloe Vera, olive oil and beer: If you have oily hair, this mixture can come in handy as its combination provides intense hydration and natural shine without making it greasy. Mix half a glass of beer, the Aloe pulp and a tablespoon of olive oil to form a homogeneous paste and spread it through your hair from the middle to the ends. Afterwards, wash your hair as usual.
  • Natural yogurt, egg white and lemon juice: Yes, the yogurt should be natural and unsweetened! It is important since processed foods are not entirely healthy and the benefits that natural products bring to our body are doubled if they are BIO, or organic products.
What do we have to do? We simply have to mix the yogurt, lemon juice and egg white in a bowl until it forms a cream with a smooth texture. Apply it from roots to ends or from medium-lengths to ends, then cover your head with a shower cap to keep it warm and finally rinse with warm water.
  • Honey and almond oil: Mixing these two natural products will make your hair hydrated and strong. Their natural properties will improve the shine of your hair, preventing it from falling out and nourishing it in depth. Being oil, it is recommended to use a small amount from medium to ends and then apply our Aloe vera shampoo with organic olive oil along with your usual conditioner.
  • Avocado, ripe banana and wheat germ oil: Another home remedy to prevent and repair split ends is this powerful cocktail. Mash the pulp of the avocado and the banana until it forms a homogeneous mass and add a tablespoon of wheat germ oil. If you don’t have this oil, you can use olive or coconut oil. Mix all the natural products and apply it from the middle to the ends for an hour, then wash your hair as usual.

Have taken note of these homemade mask recipes in order to have shiny and silky hair? Then don’t forget something very important.

Food for healthy and shiny hair

It is crucial that we do not neglect any part of our body, and less so with food! Let’s not forget that we are what we eat. Foods rich in Vitamin D, proteins and Omega 3 must be part of our daily diet to see us healthy inside and out.
